Musician and amateur investigator Rick McCann is hired to locate a missing person, Nicky Walker, last seen in Nashville trying to make it as a singer on the club circuit. He follows every lead, through the clubs she'd performed at and where she'd lived, but was no closer to finding her. After an exhaustive search he finally gets a break in the case, but his path is cluttered with greed, deception and promiscuity.

Frustrated, he seeks the support and companionship of a local club owner, who knows her way around Nashville and where a young lady might go to get a start in the business. The drama continues to thicken when Rick realizes this case may be over his head, and linked to an earlier murder.

His relentless dedication to find Nicky, to protect her, and then love her comes to a climax when he's faced with a shocking twist he never saw coming. Feeling victimized, he demands revenge and will stop at nothing to restore his self-confidence, and his ability to love again.
