Fearing a lifetime of heartbreak and shame, Collie attempts to escape the haunting memories of the worst night of her young life. After leaving her homeland of Donnel to seek refuge in the Tillaman Realm beyond the eastern mountains, disaster strikes on the road. Left destitute and responsible for the care of a catatonic child, Collie makes a pact for shelter with Morgan of Sark and soon finds herself hopelessly entangled in a dangerous web of possession and jealousy. She must wait for the winter snows to recede in order to break free. Yet when the spring thaw arrives, the past comes back to claim her.

Book Two of Collie Tinker's journey of self-discovery, "Hope Rises from the Ashes" proves the resiliency of spirit amid heartbreak, excitement, and terror. Not recommended for young readers.
