Robbert Gillan is a regular Joe with boyish good looks and outlook. He goes about his low level government contracting job dreaming of one day finding an idea that will improve the world. By contrast, the rugged and opportunistic General Mark Thomas is desperate to have a new innovation to build his legacy.

During his thirty year career in the Department of Defense, Ronnie Lee lived in foreign lands and had grand adventures. He served in positions as varied as an infantry private, a Lieutenant Colonel military adviser in the middle east, and as a senior government civilian logistician.
