When Michigan’s Governor Chyrise Elliot gave a speech at her party’s national convention, she immediately began the talk of the country and four years later gave another speech. This one was her acceptance speech for her party’s nomination as it presidential candidate. She fulfilled her party’s expectations by sweeping to victory over the incumbent and was poised to be inaugurated.

However, no sooner had her inauguration speech ended then plans were underway to stop her from taking the oath of office. In fact, planning had been underway for some time. The plans were far reaching – from within the United States Senate around the world to parties who did not want to see a female at the helm of any nation, much less the United States.

Just days before the inauguration, two chance circumstances happen which could put kinks in the way of this treacherous plan: On a foggy pass in Los Angeles, a motorist stopped to fix a flat tire; In a park in Hong Kong, a woman who was jogging knocked down an elderly man who had spotted a rare butterfly and had stepped onto the path to see it closer. These set into motion a chain of events which could shed light on and perhaps even stop this clandestine conspiracy.
