About Katherine Edwins Schumm (The Villages, Florida Author)

Katherine Edwins Schumm

Katherine Edwins Schumm was born in Minneapolis, MN but at the age of two the family moved to Asia. In the next 11 years she lived in more than five countries. This experience reflects in her writing and stories. She wrote her first novella in seventh grade followed by many short stories, poetry and essays. A natural storyteller she became a therapist as an adult, which helped her touch the lives of many women and families experiencing conflict and life transitions. In 2002 she was asked to write a retrospective of her grandfather's mission to China in the early 1900's and that article "Ode to Joy" was published both in the U.S. and in China. She was invited to be a speaker at St. Catherine's University "Women at Midlife Conference" in 2002 where she spoke of creating circles of friendship and support for women. She is currently lives in central Florida with her husband and three dogs.

Autumn Days: Bridging Change reflects Katherine's dry wit. It combines both an introspective nature for anyone struggling with change, most especially in retirement and goofy humor. An anthology of short essays include thoughtful worksheets along with meaningful action plans. Not since Erma Bombeck, has anyone poked such fun at our resistance to change.
