Fire in Genesee Country is the sixth book in my Rochester series of novels for kids. Steven (now a teacher's aide at #27 School) is not happy that house sitting for Principal Coley's sister includes taking care of her spoiled cat. He would have downright refused if he'd known that the cat has a secret. Francois is a time traveler. While Mrs Levine's class is learning about the past by exploring Genesee Country Village and Museum, Francois leads Steven on a time traveling journey into a fire in Rochester's past and a test of his strength and courage.

"Fire" is very dear to my heart because Steven and Francois time travel back to 1901 and the Rochester Orphan Asylum fire, where my grandfather's twin daughters died. This book is dedicated to Dear Mary and Sweet Gertie.
