From Pigtails to Chin Hairs – A Memoir & More
Charming memoir by Missouri author who shares her outlook on life from the 1950s to present day. Many chapters take you back to an earlier, simpler time, even as Becky reveals with gentle honesty, the painful periods in her life. Her trials included a father who abandoned his family and a military marriage that became abusive. Mixed in are light-hearted anecdotes about scary roller window shades, missing the bus, and getting tangled up with a barbecue grill. You will smile, laugh, and ache right along with Becky. Reading this book is like sitting on the front porch with the author, chatting, and enjoying a nice glass of iced tea.
About Becky Lewellen Povich (St. Louis, Missouri Author)
Becky Lewellen Povich didn't begin writing until she was almost 50 years old. When she received her first acceptance, which was with the St. Charles County Journals, as one of their guest Opinion Shapers, she realized what being passionate about something in life truly meant. Since then Becky's work can be found in various publications: small journals and newspapers, several anthologies including five Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and her memoir, which received wonderful blurbs and reviews, "From Pigtails to Chin Hairs" published in 2013. Becky is currently working on her second book, which so far appears to be the sequel!
