Every homeschooling parent asks the heart-wrenching question: Am I doing this right?

In God Schooling, parents learn how God intended children to grow and develop at every stage. Through chapters specifically devoted to each stage of development, parents learn the true needs and best teaching methods for every child. God Schooling features anecdotes from Julie Polanco’s nearly fifteen years of homeschooling her four children, punctuated by Biblical references. Interspersed throughout the book are quotes from more than 25 experts in child development, psychology, neuroscience, and education. Inside, parents discover:

What is wrong with giving rewards and punishments for schoolwork Why grades and competitions don’t measure excellence The best ways to motivate kids and teach young children How child development mirrors walking with Jesus How long it really takes to learn to read and do elementary school math What the true indicators of future eminence are

God Schooling equips parents with confidence and a roadmap for helping their children reach their God-given potential, with lots of encouragement along the way.

About Julie Polanco (Chicago, Illinois Author)

Julie Polanco

I could tell you all the boring stuff that no one really reads or cares about, but nah. Let's skip to what you really want to know. Inspiration hits me in the face everyday as I parent and homeschool my children. My family doesn't fall in the big part of the bell curve since I have twice as many kids as the norm. That means I have twice as much fun, twice as much material for my books, and twice as long to pretend I'm still a kid myself. I write books that challenge the generally accepted ideas about education. I also plan to capture that epic fantasy that dances through my brain day and night. The story began flirting with me when I sat among the clover and thistle as a child, certain that fairies made their homes there. Stay tuned for updates on the final capture of the tale of fairies, giants, and men.

Now for the boring stuff: I have more than twenty years experience writing for a variety of different clients, from ghostwriting others' books to copywriting to features for healthcare trade journals. I have also developed a high school botany course for an online curriculum provider. My favorite assignments, of course, are those I give myself. So far, I have written two books and I blog regularly at my website, juliepolancobooks.com.
