I Was In The Vicinity – Poems by Guinotte Wise

I Was In The Vicinity
123 Pages
ISBN 978-1-948920-21-6

Wise returns with Covid era observations, choppers, barns, earthquakes and pastures, all the horses of a lifetime, archaeology of the age in all its prickly splendor. Sometimes all one can control is the coffeemaker, and that, not always. He answers questions about fish sleeping, power & light, license plates and red Ducatis in yellow wheat fields. He escapes from Los Angeles in a copper tube elevator to a green cave and from reality in a bumper car that flashes and buzzes through a farmhouse. And several silos full more.

I Was In The Vicinity is his sixth book, and his third collection of poetry. A seventh book, a collection of essays, titled Chickens One Day, Feathers The Next, will be published in late 2020 or early 2021. Visit www.wisesculpture.com for more information or for contact. His sculpture is represented by The Hilliard Gallery, Kansas City, MO, The Lois Lambert Gallery, Santa Monica, CA, and The New Lancaster General Store in Resume Speed, KS.
