About Nadege Nicoll (North Jersey Author)

Nadege Nicoll

Nadege Nicoll is a mom who doesn’t believe in perfect parenting. Like all moms, she has good and bad days, moments where she’s in control, and others where she feels guilty, tired, or overwhelmed. A few years ago, she decided to turn these emotions into humorous books.

Her series ‘Living With Grown-Ups” presents a child's perspective on parenting, and how inconsistent adults can be. It is a door to open a conversation with kids about how they see their parents. It’s also an acknowledgement that nobody’s perfect. And that’s okay.

Nadege believes that writing from the kids' perspective helps her to grow into a better person. So she ventured beyond the topic of parenting, to look at the world in general through the eyes of children. Her latest book, "American Refuge" is a kid's take on the refugee crisis and a great reminder that empathy doesn't need to be linked to politics, points of view or beliefs. Empathy is just about lending a helping hand to the ones who need it. And what better way to explain it, in plain "right or wrong" than the voice of a child?
