Anything is possible in Patch Land. Little Preston, and his dog Beau are challenged by the eye patches they have to wear because of an eye disease, but that does not stop them from doing what they love. At night Preston, puts his eye patch under his pillow. When he starts to dream, he and his dog Beau get to go to Patch Land. Everyone including the animals wear eye patches in Patch Land. They live in a world of fun and adventure and imagination. The Illustrations are spectacular and help the story come to life. When young readers join Preston, and Beau on their fun-filled adventures, they will feel like they are there with them, cheering them on as they overcome their vision challenges.
About Carmen Swick (Denver, Colorado Author)
Carmen Swick lives in Colorado with her family where they enjoy the outdoor activities that the Centennial State has to offer. She volunteers with a no-profit organization, The Foundation Fighting Blindness, where she holds the position as the President for the Chapter. She is the Chair for the Blind Taste of the Rockies, which is an annual fundraiser to raise awareness and search for a cure to blindness. In 2012 Carmen led the role of Chair for the Denver Vision Walk, all the while attending schools for presentations/workshops and signing for the Patch Land Adventure series. Helping finding blindness isn't her only passion: she leads a team in the role of Captain of the Race for the Cure. She was the presenting Children's book author for the 2014 Young Writers Conference for the Jeffco Elementary Schools.
