A new and unique collection of original fictional short stories by a Pittsburgh area author was published on February 25, 2016 by Black Rose Writing of Castroville, Texas. Strange Tales of the Ironic and Eclectic includes a short story The Manuscript of Adrian Hobart that was dramatized on British Broadcasting World Service Radio’s Short Story Program and also published in the Troy University publication Copper Blade Review (Volume 9, 2004). It also contains sixteen other short stories that transport the reader to old England, beyond the casket, into an abandoned cemetery, an old raunchy tenement, and into bad mugger’s neighborhoods. The reader will be thrilled, chilled, and maybe even scared while reading the collection of well-written short stories in the tradition of writers such as Edgar Allan Poe and similar. This is the second of three book by Len Steiner. His first novel titled Climb Up the Steel Mountain is a fictional medical novel about a young man who struggles to become a prominent cardiac surgeon and encounters many obstacles while climbing the steel mountain to attain his goal. Len has also completed a third novel (“Days of Sand and Royals”) about his experiences working 14 years in Saudi Arabia for US companies and the Saudi Royal Family. Len is a former resident of Leetsdale, PA in the Pittsburgh area and graduated from Leetsdale High School (now Quaker Valley HS). He is also a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force who served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
