The Wonder in the Woods
While shooting his arrows close to the wooded area, Matthew hears a whimpering sound. After determining what made the sound, he and his friends seek out a way to save a golden retriever and its puppies from abandonment. Matthew finds out that saving the dogs takes time, money, effort, and help. Through the experience, he comes to understand how his dog can help people care about reading.

Patricia Cruzan wrote three poetry books; she has five children's books. Her stories, articles, and poems have appeared in various publications: Grit, Fayette County News, Fayette Woman, The Citizen, Rhythm & Rhyme chapbooks, Georgia Council of the International Reading Association, Spawn, and Golden Poetry. She wrote articles for Fayetteville First Baptist and for the Fulton County Board of Education.

At one time, Patricia sang various vocal concerts. Most of the concerts were in the United States, but she traveled as an artist to Sydney, Australia. Patricia studied voice as part of her undergraduate work. Other foreign travel included trips to England, France, and Mexico.
